Get more reviews for your service business

Most service businesses lose reviews in the gap after a good job, when everyone is loading the truck and the ask never goes out. A simple request, sent while the work is fresh, is how more customers actually leave one.

Ask while the job is still easy to remember

The useful window is shortly after a completed job, often the same day or the next. Wait a few weeks and you are asking a stranger to recall a driveway, a clean, or a repair.

Thank them first. Name the job in a few words. Ask for an honest review. Include one link. That is the whole message.

  • Send after the work is done and the customer has had a chance to see it.
  • If something went wrong, fix that conversation before you ask.
  • One review link, not a menu of sites.
  • One reminder a few days later is enough if they have not left it.

A request you can copy and adjust

Swap in your name, the job, and the review link you want them to use.

The ask
Hi Avery, it's Priya at BrightPath. Thanks again for having us out for the window clean. If you have a minute, an honest review helps other homeowners know what to expect: [your review link]
One reminder
Hey Avery, just in case the review link got buried. Here it is again whenever you have a minute: [your review link]

Leave these tactics out

Reviews are useful when customers write them. The ask should be for an honest review of the job they had.

  • Do not write the review for them, and do not post one under their name.
  • Do not ask people to tell you the star rating first and only send a public link when it is glowing. That filtering is review gating.
  • Do not offer a discount, gift, or other reward in exchange for a review. Major review platforms prohibit that.
  • Do not tell customers what to write, or send a daily reminder until they comply.

When you have more than one crew or town

The point of doing this in one place is that the ask still goes out after the job, even when each crew is on a different street. Tag recent customers by crew, service, or area. Send the review campaign to that tag, with the review link for the work they actually had.

You see the replies in one inbox, so a customer who writes back with a problem gets a person instead of another review nudge. YoNudge does not add a separate multi-location reputation console. The campaign and the tags are the system.

How YoNudge asks for the review

Tag customers from finished jobs, then run a review request campaign. Put your review link in the message. The follow-up goes out if they have not replied, and it stops when they do.

YoNudge does not write or publish the review. The customer does. More wording by trade is in the review request text examples.

A checklist for this week's finished jobs

You can run this from your phone before you ever set up software.

  • List the jobs that were completed and went well.
  • Text or email the ask with one link the same day or the next.
  • Set a reminder for one follow-up a few days later.
  • If someone reports a problem, pause the review ask and handle the job.
  • Skip anyone who already left a review this season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I ask every customer?

Ask after completed jobs, and wait if there is an unresolved complaint. Asking only the people you have pre-screened for a five-star rating is gating. Skip that.

Text or email?

Use the channel they actually answer. A text is easy to tap on a phone. Email works when that is how you already talk, and when the campaign supports it.

Can YoNudge post the review for me?

No. You send the request. The customer writes and posts their own review.

Make the review ask part of finishing the job

YoNudge helps you send a short, honest review request after the work is done, and catch the replies that need a person.
